Christmas Day


Christmas day started with a hike up to Hin Lad Waterfalls. It was like a jungle hike - hot, humid, big bugs, spiders, slippery rocks .....you get the picture.

Did yoga for a few hours but did not make it to cardio - again!



 Kylie gave us Santa's for Christmas and we took a few pics with them at the restaurant next door as we were having lunch.
It's not that it is hot but the humidity is reeking havoc with my hair!

 Didn't really do anything special for Christmas - had dinner at the usual spot and had some wine! They fill the glass, no measuring here!
I made a few Christmas calls  - as the transvestite/lady boy (?) bar kept the street hopping with music.

Monday March 9th Amsterdam

We headed out to the Albert Cuyp Market first thing - we walked by a restaurant that said bacon and eggs and we were in it like a flash! The guy was super nice and we both ordered breakfast. It was interesting because the plate had toast on it the bottom then we think they cooked the bacon and then cooked eggs right on top of the bacon. Sounds odd but it was good - after I pulled the bacon apart from the egg and separated it all!  Tiki says it looked like a bacon and egg pizza! The owner talked us into splitting a piece of apple cake that he had just brought out of the kitchen - it was also very good!!! Freshly baked apple cake! A whole stand of licorice! Pigeon watching me take every bite! Only the Dutch could turn a bike into a table!  Delicious! How small can the cars get! Like the size of a recycling bin! Anne Franks door! Flowers are in bloom! Paris - Day 2 somehow got lost in the fray! So, it's out of order!

Woops : I forgot to post these yesterday from a local chocolate store. Not sure the history of these but I first had them in Brittany - they are so good! Pignouf Geant  only 225.00 Euros Our coronavirus plan is formulating - we decided to go to the museums first thing to avoid the crowds. First stop today was Sainte Chappelle: Yellow Alert for Flood warnings on the Seine Gangways to nowhere!

What a long haul!

Oy Vey, Arrived in Bangkok at zero dark thirty this morning just in time to see a beautiful sunrise. My picture does not do it justice. The first leg from Toronto to Dubai was great. I cannot say enough about the service provided by Air Canada. Everyone was very nice and the food was excellent. Even the food in the Maple Leaf Lounge was tasty and I am not saying that because of the three glasses of wine I had. Excellent wine selection ! Maple Leaf Lounge.  My space for the 13 + hours! Arrived In Dubai somewhat refreshed as I did manage to sleep a little. On the way to the lounge I spotted the Brioche Doree  - United Arab Emerites has every major  chain store and restaurant in the world, in my opinion these are the McDonalds of patisseries from France. I looked at a few things along the way in the multitude of duty free stores but the prices did not seem that great. No room for an almond croissant! M & M's, gummies ...
