Week two........day one Overlap Stone - straight up!

Image
It doesn't look that far but if you can see where the stones are up at the top of the picture then you see our destination. It was very steep! Not a good sign Interesting roof lines Two liters of water and 45 minutes straight up in 28 degrees! We all made it but apparently the owner said that generally 10 % of the people turn back...... The bridge was a little sketchy and the poles on the side were not attached to anything so you just walked straight across and hoped for the best! Mission accomplished!  Came back and had a wake me up coffee smoothie then did one yoga class and now am on my way to another one! Hair is stuck to my head with sweat! Did my second class from 1:30 -3:00. I really like this teacher - he is German, he is a Zen master and he has the most amazing voice. I took a private lesson from him last week which helped me immensely. Today after the class he came and congratulated me  - I thought there had been some kind of dra

First stop -coffee! Delicious!! Gruesome names for coffee-Bloody Velvet Chocolate or Cold Blood Peppermint! Seafood Market & puppy on the beach! Aussie call them Banana Prawns Pulling the prawns out of the nets! This little cutie offered to share his breakfast with us -- too sweet!! Obviously I need to practice with the panoramic setting!! What man in his right mind would drop 4 women off on a shopping street for lunch and expect them back in one hour!! Our driver was getting a little worried and came looking for us as we were there for almost 3.5 hours!!!  After this we were exhausted and returned to Lamai Beach. The view from our lunch table - about a 10 M drop to the sand, no barrier no caution sign. Our schedule for the week!  So, you can see that you can be as busy as you want - I have done the 7 am hike everyday and at least one yoga class. In this heat it is sometimes difficult. So,

OK, I am loving yoga!

Everything is an option, there is always a hike or activity starting at 7 am and there are always two sessions of yoga - 10:30 and 1:30. Cardio and strength training at 4 & 5 o'clock. The food here is good, vegan and vegetarian plus a little meat, if you want it. There are a ton of smoothies and fruit yogurt combinations to choose from. I did not take the all inclusive but have tried a few things. Some pics from the last few days! Looks like the dog took a header at some point but it is common to see them on the bikes This morning we started a scavenger hunt at 7, we were given clues and had to find the treasure then be back here by 9:15. Dead scorpion? Looks like it was after the frog and both met their demise! First stop - cock fighting ring - yeah really! 2nd stop a Thai boxing ring 3rd stop was a temple 4th stop Crystal Beach - just beautiful! We could not find the last stop - asked several locals and even the

Muay Thai on Boxing Day

It was actually fun!  I don't think the video works in this format but for a price I would gladly send you an original. It's the faces of Carole and Kelly in the background that are priceless. I will do it again next week for sure. After boxing I went to the beach then did a yoga class then went for lunch. Kylie and I decided to go shopping and get Carole a birthday gift so once again I missed cardio. Beach Time Beach treasures! Had dinner at the place next door - must really find out the name. Kylie ordered a dish called "no-name", it was like corn and chicken fritters with a spicy sauce. It was so good I order one. Then I had cashew chicken and wine. It was Caroles birthday and she had ordered dessert at 7 for our group so we made our way back to the resort - next door!  no measuring, a glass of wine a full glass of wine Me, Charlie and Kylie waiting for Carole's birthday desserts!

Christmas Day

Image
Christmas day started with a hike up to Hin Lad Waterfalls. It was like a jungle hike - hot, humid, big bugs, spiders, slippery rocks .....you get the picture. Itsy bitsy -- NOT Pretty Did yoga for a few hours but did not make it to cardio - again! Kylie gave us Santa's for Christmas and we took a few pics with them at the restaurant next door as we were having lunch. It's not that it is hot but the humidity is reeking havoc with my hair! A shark between two angels! Charlie (from Ireland) and Carole's Santa  Didn't really do anything special for Christmas - had dinner at the usual spot and had some wine! They fill the glass, no measuring here! I made a few Christmas calls  - as the transvestite/lady boy (?) bar kept the street hopping with music.
