WTF

Bangkok Belly while travelling, no matter what part of the world you are in is not very pleasant. It is particularly stressful in a country that does not have public washrooms or a Tim Horton's on every corner. You resort to what works or has worked in the past - easy on the stomach. BART, bananas , applesauce, rice and toast. Bananas and rice in a third world country are everywhere - toast, not a huge problem - the grocery store has bread. Applesauce on the other hand appears to be a north american commodity!  The bread I bought at the grocery store said whole wheat and had a picture of an American flag on it  - looked like, felt like sliced bread. Got it back to the apartment and took out two slices - half the loaf! Turns out it was like that Texas Toast and there were 7 slices in the bag ....ahhhhh. I also snagged some Campbell's chicken noodle soup!
So, for the past 7 days I have been very very careful with what I ate.
A few days ago I was feeling better and walking down the street - I saw a McDonald's and like a vortex I was sucked in the door!

WTF  - Weird and Troubling Food

The McDonalds only served chicken, ice cream and pie.

WTF - Pass on the pie!

I needed something completely familiar and needed to eat in air conditioned comfort. I needed a relatively clean environment. The other benefit of eating at a McDonald's is that it is great people watching!
I enjoyed every bite even tho I couldn't eat all of it!

Last night after a day of walking in the rice market and going out to Ban Tawai I got back and was starving. Didn't feel like walking out to the night market so I ordered Grab food - it's the uber of Thailand. McChicken again!

I believe I am cured and that I can once again get back to eating some of the delicious food that is offered here. I am done with Thai food courts food tho!
